OVERVIEW
Tsingy de Bemaraha is a remote karst region in western Madagascar, with jagged limestone pinnacles, caves and forest supporting endemic wildlife, while access roads are rough and seasonal. The relationship between razor sharp limestone towers, deep canyons and dry forest across one of the world’s most unusual karst landscapes and karst region gives the wider destination a distinctive structure beyond its principal visitor area.
Guided routes use ladders, bridges and narrow passages, making the experience physically demanding. The remoteness and fragile ecology require careful planning and responsible local operators. Spending time with both razor sharp limestone towers and deep canyons and dry forest across one of the world’s most unusual karst landscapes reveals more of the destination than focusing only on its best known sights.
