Okavango Delta

Okavango Delta is a vast wetland in northern Botswana, where river water spreads across channels, islands and floodplains before disappearing into the Kalahari. Wildlife moves with the seasonal flood, while camps and small communities occupy raised ground. Beyond the central area, island interior and islands continue to organise settlement, movement and everyday land use. Islands and island interior belong to the same connected landscape, although they often feel distinct on arrival, with river providing an additional point of connection.
