Monte Alén is a protected rainforest region in mainland Equatorial Guinea, with mountains, rivers and dense tropical forest supporting gorillas, chimpanzees and forest elephants. Access remains limited, and visitor infrastructure is extremely basic beyond the main entry points. Rivers and forest clearings add further ecological variety across the wider protected area.
