OVERVIEW
Kribi is a coastal town in southern Cameroon, known for sandy beaches, fishing activity and forested surroundings. Low rise streets, markets and small hotels extend inland from the shore, while nearby rivers form waterfalls close to the sea. Away from the principal landmarks, coast gives way gradually to waterfalls across the wider area. The wider destination extends from waterfalls towards forest, with local communities occupying the ground between them.
Beach time, seafood and short coastal excursions define most stays. Infrastructure is modest, but the combination of ocean, forest and local fishing culture gives the town a distinctive atmosphere. Nearby forest roads and coastal villages offer quieter experiences beyond the central beach. Rivers draws most attention, but coast contributes equally to the destination’s character and daily life.

THINGS TO DO
Trace Kribi’s historic sites
Use Kribi’s historic sites to understand a specific part of Kribi’s past rather than viewing it without context. Allow time for interpretation, not only the most photographed exterior.
Paddle Kribi’s main waters
Paddle around Kribi’s main paddling waters on a route suited to local water and weather conditions. Hire equipment or a guide where currents, access points or changing forecasts make independent planning difficult.
Relax at Public Beach Kribi
Spend time at Public Beach Kribi rather than treating every nearby beach as interchangeable. Swimming conditions, access and facilities can vary, so check locally before entering the water.
