Beaches and resort facilities are highly developed, but road trips reveal quieter towns and rainforest landscapes. Food draws heavily on seafood, coconut and local produce. The island feels far more varied than its resort reputation suggests. The relationship between coast and beaches adds variety without requiring long transfers.
