OVERVIEW
Grandvalira is a broad mountain region in Andorra, connecting several ski sectors and high valleys through one lift network. Resort villages, roads and accommodation are spread across different elevations. The landscape supports skiing in winter and hiking, cycling and mountain activities in summer. Settlement and movement follow the transition between mountain terrain and villages across the wider area.
Each sector has a different feel, from family areas to steeper terrain and livelier evening centres. Roads can be busy during peak periods, with high slopes and mountain terrain providing the wider context. Choosing accommodation near the preferred slopes reduces daily travel and creates a more coherent stay. Spending time around lower valleys also brings mountain terrain into view, adding a distinct second layer to the visit.
