Aswan is a southern Egyptian city built along a broad stretch of the Nile, where granite islands, desert banks and Nubian villages shape the river landscape. The urban centre combines markets, transport hubs and historic hotels, while boats connect gardens, archaeological sites and residential communities that remain closely tied to the water.
