OVERVIEW
Pula is a large city at the southern tip of Istria, with a monumental Roman amphitheatre, ancient gates and a working port. Residential districts and former military sites extend beyond the compact centre. The amphitheatre stands close to ordinary streets and port facilities, making antiquity part of the contemporary urban landscape. Shipyards and cranes remain visible across the working harbour.
