OVERVIEW
Pärnu is a small coastal town in western Estonia, with a broad beach, historic wooden neighbourhoods and a compact centre beside a river. Spa traditions and summer tourism shape much of the local economy. Beaches and coast belong to the same connected landscape, although they often feel distinct on arrival, with residential districts providing an additional point of connection.
Cycling, beach time and café streets create an easy seasonal rhythm. Outside summer, the town becomes much quieter and more residential. The strongest contrast comes between neighbourhoods and coast, which support different activities and daily rhythms. Beaches is encountered differently from neighbourhoods, making it worthwhile to leave time for both parts of the destination.

THINGS TO DO
Cycle Pärnu’s principal route
Choose a cycling route around Pärnu’s principal cycling route that matches your fitness and the available time. Check gradients, surfaces and traffic rather than judging the ride by distance alone.
Cycling
2 hours to full day
Plan restorative time at Spa Estonia, checking whether advance booking, swimwear or local bathing customs apply. Thermal and outdoor facilities can also have seasonal restrictions.
Relax at The beach promenade
Spend time at The beach promenade rather than treating every nearby beach as interchangeable. Swimming conditions, access and facilities can vary, so check locally before entering the water.
