OVERVIEW
Mole is a protected savanna region in northern Ghana, with woodland, grassland and seasonal waterholes supporting elephants, antelope and abundant birdlife. A small number of lodges provide the main access. The destination is physically divided between wildlife habitats and grassland, with roads and settlements linking the two. Away from the principal landmarks, elephant habitat gives way gradually to wildlife habitats across the wider area.
Walking safaris and game drives offer different perspectives, while early mornings provide the strongest wildlife activity. Seasonal changes influence vegetation, visibility and animal movement across the reserve. Longer stays allow time to explore quieter sections beyond the most accessible waterholes. Local guides also explain vegetation, tracks and animal behaviour across the changing savanna.
