Kutaisi is one of Georgia’s oldest cities, built along the Rioni River and centred on markets, residential streets and religious sites. The surrounding region contains caves, monasteries and fertile countryside. Away from the principal landmarks, residential districts gives way gradually to caves across the wider area.
