OVERVIEW
Constanța is a major port on the Black Sea with a history stretching back to ancient Greek and Roman settlement. Archaeological remains, museums and a landmark casino stand near the old waterfront, while modern commercial districts and residential areas extend inland. Beaches and resort zones continue north along the coast.
The centre combines maritime trade, urban beaches and historical sites within a relatively compact area. Summer brings substantial resort activity, while the working port remains visible throughout the year. Some landmark buildings are weathered, but the city’s mix of ancient history and contemporary coastal life is distinctive.

THINGS TO DO
See a show at Old Casino Constanța
Plan an evening at Old Casino Constanța for a performance or show connected to the local scene. Programmes and opening nights change, so check what is actually running during your stay.
Find Constanța’s coastline
Spend time at Constanța’s coastline rather than treating every nearby beach as interchangeable. Swimming conditions, access and facilities can vary, so check locally before entering the water.
Explore Roman Mosaic Edifice
Explore Roman Mosaic Edifice to understand the ancient settlement, belief or engineering that shaped Constanța. Allow enough time to read the site rather than treating it as a photo stop.
Trace local history at National Museum of History
Use National Museum of History to understand a specific part of Constanța’s past rather than viewing it without context. Allow time for interpretation, not only the most photographed exterior.
