Batroun sits on Lebanon’s Mediterranean coast, with a historic centre of sandstone houses, churches and narrow streets close to the sea. Remains of an ancient coastal wall and a traditional fishing harbour point to its long maritime history. Beaches, guesthouses and restaurants have made the town a popular weekend destination, while surrounding hills contain vineyards and villages.

Much of the activity centres on the old streets and waterfront, where cafés and bars become busy after sunset. Swimming spots range from rocky platforms to small beaches, and local lemonade is a well-known speciality. The town’s small scale makes it easy to combine heritage and coastal time, although summer weekends can feel crowded.
