OVERVIEW
Bandhavgarh is a forested wildlife area in central India, centred on a national park of sal woodland, grassland and steep sandstone ridges. It is particularly known for Bengal tigers, although sightings remain unpredictable and depend on patience and local conditions. An ancient hilltop fort and scattered archaeological remains show that the landscape also has a long human history.
Safari drives are divided among separate tourism zones, each with a different balance of forest, open meadow and water. Deer, monkeys, wild boar and many bird species are commonly seen even when tigers remain hidden. Accommodation clusters outside the park boundaries, and the experience is shaped by early starts, restricted drive times and careful wildlife observation.
