OVERVIEW
South Luangwa is a protected savanna region in eastern Zambia, where a winding river, lagoons and woodland support elephants, predators and exceptional birdlife. Camps are spread along different sections of the valley. The combination of river woodlands, abundant wildlife and intimate safari camps across a remote valley shaped by seasonal water and savanna gives the wider destination a distinct physical and cultural structure.
Walking safaris are a defining experience, while game drives reveal wider habitats and nocturnal wildlife. Dry season concentrations can be remarkable, although longer stays provide a fuller view of the river system. Experiencing river woodlands alongside abundant wildlife and intimate safari camps across a remote valley shaped by seasonal water reveals more of the destination than focusing only on its best known visitor area.
