Mahé is the largest island in the Seychelles, with steep forested hills, winding coastal roads and numerous beaches. The capital, residential districts and most national services are concentrated along the eastern coast. Across the wider area, mountain terrain remains closely connected with coast, rather than forming an isolated visitor zone, with bay providing an additional point of connection.
