OVERVIEW

Dhaka spreads across a low floodplain beside several rivers, with old commercial quarters, government districts and immense residential expansion forming one continuous metropolis. Mughal-era buildings, markets and river terminals survive within the older city, while modern towers and factories extend far beyond it.
