OVERVIEW
Dahab stretches along the Gulf of Aqaba with low-rise hotels, cafés and dive centres facing clear water. Coral reefs begin close to shore, while barren mountains rise immediately inland. The settlement developed from a Bedouin fishing village and retains a more informal scale than larger resort cities.
Shore diving is the main attraction, including deep and technically demanding sites that require experienced operators. The waterfront is social without being heavily formal, though environmental pressure and rapid development are increasingly visible. Inland trips to canyons and Bedouin camps provide a strong contrast with the reef-lined shore.
