OVERVIEW
Bryce Canyon is a high-elevation plateau in southern Utah, famous for dense fields of narrow rock towers known as hoodoos. Frost, rain and erosion have carved the colourful limestone into natural amphitheatres below the forested rim. Roads and viewpoints follow the upper edge, while trails descend among the formations.
Sunrise and early morning light reveal the colours and depth most clearly. Short walks provide major views, but descending trails show the scale of the formations from below. Snow is possible well outside winter because of the altitude, and summer storms can arrive quickly. The compact layout makes the main landscape accessible without long drives.
