OVERVIEW
Bequia is a small island in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, arranged around a deep natural harbour. The main settlement contains colourful houses, cafés, shops and a waterfront serving ferries and sailing boats. Beaches, wooded hills and fishing communities lie along quiet roads, giving the island a compact geography that remains closely tied to the sea.
Sailing culture is central, from visiting yachts to local boatbuilding and fishing traditions. Water taxis connect beaches around the bay, while short walks lead to viewpoints and quieter coves. Tourism is established but remains small in scale, allowing the island to feel sociable without the large resort development found elsewhere in the Caribbean.
