OVERVIEW
Ayia Napa is a resort town on the south-eastern coast of Cyprus, known for pale beaches and warm, clear sea. Hotels, restaurants and entertainment venues spread inland from several bays, while a small historic monastery marks the old centre. The surrounding coastline includes sea caves and rocky headlands as well as broad, fully serviced beaches.
Beach life dominates during the day, with boat trips, swimming and water sports readily available. After dark, the central bar and club area can become very lively, particularly in summer, while resorts farther from the centre are quieter. The town is highly commercial, but the quality of the coastline and easy access to nearby natural areas give it appeal beyond nightlife.
